My Dad

I can't believe it has been six years since I lost my dad.  He has been on my mind a lot lately.  I have been missing his smile, his squinty eyes and the way they would light up when he smiled, the way he would call me his star, his voice, his belly, his cooking, his hugs, the way he would scuffle his feet when he danced in the kitchen, and most of all his contagious laugh.

The Gospel is the only thing that has gotten me through the tough times.  Knowing that I will see my dad again, makes everything better.  I look forward to the day I can wrap my arms around him and give him a kiss on the cheek.  For now, I am grateful for the tender mercies I have received along the way.  I know he is still with me and watching over me daily.  I find comfort in knowing he is in good hands and is in a better place.

My brother Tate filled my eyes with tears today, as I read his status:
"Missin' my old man lately. You learn to live with one of the biggest parts of your life gone. You try to pretend like it never happened all the time but then there are days when you realize things. He is not coming back. It's tough until you realize you talk to kids just like he did, his laugh bellows out of your mouth every once in a while, ha and you even sneeze like him. He is gone but his influence lives in me. He is in all aspects of my life. I'm grateful for the man I saw that my father was. I'm grateful through all his trials I only saw a hero."

I am so happy I got to be his little girl and he got to be my dad.  I wouldn't of had it any other way.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

I can't believe the time has come to pack up our first little house.  There are so many wonderful memories that have been made inside these walls.  There is just something about your first home.  Luckily we are just moving down the street.  Our house that we are building, won't be done for another couple of months, so we are moving back in with Tyson's parents.  I am grateful we have somewhere to go and they are willing to let us back in.  It will be an adjustment for me, but I know it will be worth it.

I can't wait to decorate the new house and fill it with new memories.  I am looking forward to a yard for Gigi, a laundry room with cabinets, a driveway, and bay windows.  It is a little scary waiting for the house colors to come together.  We picked a stucco color that has never been used before. Ahhhh!!!! Hopefully we won't be the sore thumb house.  You know what I am talking about.  My mom and sister are going to come visit once it's done.  I don't know what I am more excited about, the house or my family coming to visit.

Life is an adventure and we are thrilled for this next step!

 Please come visit!

Lovers Day

I love everything about Valentine's Day, always have, always will.

I got the idea from a blog I read, to write a list of some of the things that I love.  I tend to say I love a lot of things, so I will try and keep it to a minimum.

First and for most, I love my husband!  He seriously is my rock my everything.  He takes such good care of me and is the greatest example of love and compassion, I have ever met.  That smiles of his still melts my heart.  I love falling into love with him over and over again every day.  I am so happy I have him forever.  I love him head to toe.

I love my family so much.  We have all been through so much together.  We are a crazy bunch of indians but we know how to laugh and have a good time.  I have always been able to count on my family no matter what the situation.

I love my puppy GiGi.  I love that she waits patiently at the door for me and Tyson to come home.  She greats us with the warmest welcome, without fail every time we walk through the door.  I love that she knows when I am sad.  I love that she loves food.  I love how much she has added to our little family.

I love my home.  I love being able to walk around in whatever I please.  I love being able to cook for my husband in my kitchen.  I love snuggling on the couch with Tyson.  I love how our fireplace heats up our home in two seconds.  I love that it made California feel like home.

I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I love how it has helped me get through some of the hardest times in my life.  I love the peace that it offers.  I love the happiness and joy it has brought into my life and my marriage.

I love and miss biking every day.  I love my friends, dance, Zumba, cookies and milk, chocolate, Cafe Rio, skiing, hugs, long conversations, Heber City, new makeup, In-N-Out, Anthropologie, surprises, poems, good books, Trader Joes, sweats, music, and oh so much more.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Birthday Girl

Yes we are those pathetic dog people, who celebrate their dogs birthday.

And let me tell you what, we had fun doing so.

February 5th was GiGi's 1st Birthday!

We found a dog bakery that made the most adorable cake for her.

I can't believe our puppy is all grown up.  We love her so much and are so happy she is ours!

And of course, a big thank you to our friends and family for spoiling our pup.  She is one lucky girl.
