It Is About Time

It is my most absolute favorite time of year right now.  From October-January I am on a natural high.  I love the weather, the smell, the fact that the holidays are just around the corner and being able to flip the switch on my thermostat from the a/c to HEAT.

I look forward to indulging in Williams-Sanoma Rich and Creamy Hot Chocolate

And Williams-Sanoma's heaven sent Handcrafted Mallows!  You have GOT to try a cup of this.  No other hot chocolate will do justice.

Layering my clothes has been greatly missed.  Anthropologie has the best scarves!

I started wearing my boots in September.  I just couldn't resist.  Now that I live in California the weather doesn't get cooler until the end of November.  But I couldn't wait that long.  People may have given me a look or two as they were still wearing flip flops and shorts.

My favorite part, the MUSIC!
I think this is the first year I have listened to Christmas music before Dec. 1st.  With Justin Bieber's new Christmas rendition, I broke from the mold.

Ahhh!!!! I could be totally fine staying home in my house all day every day.  Listening to my new tunes, fire place lit, homemade bread baking in the oven, all while searching Pinterest getting new ideas to decorate the house.

Life is good!  It's that time of year when all the magic happens.

What is your favorite thing about this time of year?

Halloween

Ladies and gentlemen drumroll please..........................

WE HAVE INTERNET!

It has only been a measly 360 + days since having it in our house, but who's counting.

Whether you like it or not, you are going to be hearing a lot more from me.

This post is a tad late, but I had to post some Halloween pics.  No, not of Tyson and I but of our puppy GiGi.  We were lame this year and didn't dress up.  This was the first year we had trick-or-treaters.  It was fun to hand out candy to all of the little ones.  Anyone that stopped by our house hit the jackpot, seeing as we only had ten or so trick-or-treaters and we had two COSTCO bags of candy.

I love Halloween and look forward to it every year.  My mom and I share this love.  She sent me the picture of my niece and nephew on Halloween.  I couldn't help but wish I was there to share in the festivities with them.  (Side note my mom is a babe and on the market, if you know of any takers let me know).

Hope you had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Disneyland

Tyson and I joined some of my family for a weekend trip to Disneyland.  We hadn't been there together, since I was in sixth grade.  I have to say this time around was my favorite and most memorable.  It was great to be there in October because the park was decorated for the season.  We arrived there as early as possible and stayed until we just couldn't walk anymore.

I had to make sure we got a picture in with the one and only Mickey Mouse.

Please believe I ate everything in sight.... and no I am not pregnant.  I just love Disneyland's churro's, sour dough bread, corn dogs, ice cream, etc.

I loved being able to spend quality time with my siblings.  It is hard to come by these days, seeing as I live 12 hours away from most of them.  I loved being able to see our niece Madison's face as she walked around Disneyland for her first time.

I had never been to the California Adventures side and now I know why.  I am not and have never been one for up and down rides/roller coasters.  I have severe motion sickness issues and well I hate the feeling of having my breath taken away.  But trying to be a good wife and good sport I decided to take one for the team and go on Tower of Terror.  Let me just say, I thought I was going to die.  I may sound dramatic but ask my poor brother-in-law Jordan as I may have grabbed him inappropriately.  Sorry!  Madison was a champ on the ride.  Afterwards she asked her dad if she could go on the tea cups now.  It was hilarious.

We stood in line for the Screaming California, for what felt like forever.  Don't worry that the ride broke down just as we were about to board the ride.  We took advantage of the wait time and gave our legs a rest, while Nick got in a cat nap.  Lucky for us they got the ride working and we were able to get our scream on.

I couldn't help but snap a picture of this princess.  Seriously, we could not stop laughing.  So stinking cute!

Disneyland was a blast!  I can hardly wait for next time.  Thank you Jordo and Kiersten for the military discount.

A Little Bit of This A Little Bit of That

It feels like I haven't blogged in FOREVER.  Life has been so crazy lately.  It seems the older I get the less time there is in the day.  Things have been extremely busy around the Parker household.  I have been working for two different dentists four times a week and teaching Zumba three nights a week.  It has definitely been keeping me on my toes.  Tyson continues to work out every morning with his dad at 5:45 in the morning.  The have almost completed their 90 days doing P90X.  He also manages to come to my Zumba classes.... reason 4,759 why he is an amazing husband.  Our favorite thing lately is to lay on the couch, after a long day and watch One Tree Hill on DVD.  Yes, I have gotten Tyson addicted to my sad obsession.

Here are two of the great people I get to work with on a daily basis.  I have fallen in love with dentistry.  If I had done things right I would have gone to hygiene school.  The OR is definitely my favorite setting.

After this week I will no longer be working for Dr. Malan.  This makes me sad.  I absolutely love the girls I work with.  We seriously laugh our heads off all day at work.  I am going to miss them heaps!  But I am grateful for the opportunity to get full time benefits at my other office.  I can honestly say now I enjoy going to work!

On another note, I have never been one for politics.  I have no idea what people are talking about and try to avoid heated conversations anytime I can, however, Tyson and I were invited to a breakfast with Mitt Romney last weekend.  The food was great, the backyard was gorgeous, and well Mitt is a pretty good looking old man if I say so myself.

(Yes I look like a creeper, but who knows maybe I can be his personal assistant once he is President!)

Don't worry the little girl has been keeping herself busy as well.  She graduated puppy school this week!  Yay!  We were so proud.  We took her to Petsmart after and got her a toy.  I fall in love with this puppy more and more every day.

Even if she has now destroyed SIX pairs of my shoes, FOUR in one day!

We of course had to fit in the UTAH vs. BYU game.  I was the only Ute fan in the building, aka house. Oh and how good it felt to be a UTAH UTE!!!! Can you say blow out!  It was disappointing that it was not a better game, but it always feels good to come out on top.

And last but not least I got a new car!  This has been a long time coming.  I have never had a brand new car, but this was worth the wait.  GIGI loves having lots of room and I love the smooth ride.

Even though life can be crazy it still is great.  This is my favorite time of year and look forward to the holidays and good memories to come!

Cleveland Family Meeting

Over the past 31 years Tyson's grandparents have had a family testimony meeting once a year.  This year was extra special because Grandpa Bob was able to attend.  He has Alzheimers and was unable to attend last year.  We all got together at Tyson's parents house and listened to Grandma Betty share her testimony.  She is so strong and is such a great example to all that come in contact with her.  I hope to be just like her one day.

After the family meeting we enjoyed a delicious dinner and headed out to get our family picture taken.

It is crazy to see the posterity that has come because of Bob and Betty.  You know the saying, "All Because Two People Fell In Love."

I love seeing the love that they share for one another.  Watching Tyson's grandparents go through the same thing that my grandparents went through is difficult.  But with the knowledge of the gospel all things are made okay.  I am so grateful for an eternal family.

The thing that impresses me most in both my grandparents and Tyson's grandparents is that that they never forgot who their spouse was, even when they couldn't remember anyone else.  That is true love!  I know that true love can edure all things.
