PBR

I come from a small town and grew up loving rodeos, bull riding being my favorite event of the night.  Last summer I took Tyson to his first rodeo.  It was so much fun watching the excitement in his eyes.  While in Heber over Christmas, we attending another bull riding event to support my brother, who recently decided to take up bull riding.  Through these outings I might have found a little country boy in my hubby.

Friday morning I woke up to a surprise text from Tyson saying to pick up our cowboy boots from his parents house.  I was thrilled he was taking me to the PBR.  I had been telling him over and over again how much I wanted to go, but didn't think anything would come of it.  We slipped into our boots and made our way to the PBR.

While sitting in the nose bleeds one of the ushers approached us and asked if we would like to move down.  Without any hesitation we found ourselves in the third row.  How we got so lucky, I don't know.

I told Tyson we need to make this an annual event and maybe one day we will find ourselves in Vegas for the finals.

My favorite part of the night was the rodeo clown!  He had me laughing like crazy with his dance moves.  I am happy to say, I got him to dance with me.

All together the night was a success.  I love you babe!  Thank you for an amazing night.

Sister Girl Is Getting Married

Kiersten made the big drive to California over her Spring Break to visit.  I couldn't even sleep, I was so ecstatic anticipating her arrival.  Tyson and I cleaned up the house, bought groceries, and made plans for a fun filled week.  We ate tons, laughed, watched movies, shopped, cooked dinner, made cinnamon rolls, and enjoyed "Never Say Never." (Might I add that we were the only ones in the theater, and sang aloud to every song at the top of our lungs).  The week went by far too quickly and saying goodbye was not easy, however I was excited because I knew what was in store for her.

A few weeks prior Jordan, her soon to be fiance text me and asked me if I could email him the picture of the ring Kiersten had shown me.  I couldn't wait for what was about to unravel.

Kiersten made the drive to Camp Pendleton to visit her Marine, Jordan.   His parents asked her to deliver a "very" special package to him.  Little did she know she was transporting her very engagement ring.  After doing Baptisms at the San Diego Temple and visiting Sea World he proposed that night while on the beach!

I am thrilled to have Jordan be part of our family.  Kiersten is a strong girl and has been and continues to wait patiently as he goes through his Marine endeavors.

Brown Family

Friday morning a received yet another heart wrenching phone call from my mother.  She informed me that my uncle Cliff had passed away.  I flood of emotions filled my heart as past wounds were reopened.  We received word that the funeral would be on Monday and made arrangements to be there as soon as possible.  We made the journey to the reservation to be with family and were instantly comforted being in their presence.  I cannot think of a time were I have been able to be around all of my aunties and uncles at the same time.  We were gathered under unwanted circumstances but were happy to be surrounded by one another.  Tyson was able to meet all of my uncles and many of my cousins.  The funeral was beautiful.  The music penetrated deep into my soul.  I was again reminded of the love of our Savior and the peace that the Plan of Salvation brings. I would not be able to get through these circumstances without the Gospel.

My uncle Crow lived with us for a few months when I was younger.  I will never forget how lucky I felt to have my uncle by my side.  We would ride our bikes to the store and get treats.  We made a cake together for my dad.  He was an amazing artist and had a great love and understanding for music.  He was in the movie Geronimo and Back to the Future 3.  I love you uncle!

Here he is at the last family reunion trying to win the dress up contest!

While in Arizona some of the cousins got together for lunch at Speedys.

My cousin Brigader was sweet and let us stay at her home.

I feel so blessed that I was able to be with my family this past weekend.  I love each and everyone of them.  I learned a lot from them and hope to implement everything they taught me.  I love learning about my heritage and am proud of where I come from.  I will miss my uncle dearly but I know that he is in a better place.

California Love

I can't believe it has almost been a year since I have lived in California.  I am not going to lie, I struggled a lot with the move, however, I can honestly say that I am really starting to enjoy life here in the big CA. I have found a great group of girl friends.  I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people.

I look forward to our birthday outings, craft nights, and just driving around with them while they tote around their kiddos.

Today I said my last goodbyes to my Utah license plates.  Most people would think this would be no big deal, but for me it was.  I worked hard for those U of U plates.  Who knows, I may turn into one of those people who hang their old license plates in their garage.  Will see if Tyson lets that fly.

All in all I have found that change can be a wonderful thing.
"Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind.  To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse.  To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better.  To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better."

February

I realize I have fallen completely off the blogging world, inso doing, I have decided to give a little update.  Being our first Valentine's I wanted to make it extra special.  I know many out there do not like to get all sentimental and mushy, but I am just the opposite.  I love having an extra day to express my love for my guy, and it is an awesome excuse to go out to eat at my favorite restaurant.

This year I decide to decorate Tyson's office space at work.  I snuck in the night before and with the help of my mother-in-law we got to work cutting out tons and tons of hearts.  I covered his desk with conversation hearts and his favorite candies.  I even found a bag of his favorite Gobstopper hearts.  I wish I could have seen the expression on his face when he walked into the office.  The ladies at work told me he turned a little red.

Later that night we went out to eat at Sakanya.  I seriously cannot rave enough about this restaurant.  It was beyond delicious.

We ended the evening with nothing better than the Bachelor.

HAHA sorry babe!  But thanks for loving me enough to let me watch my favorite show.

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers.  I was surprised with two dozen flowers and a new perfume, I have been dying to get my hands on.

In getting ready to obtain my RDA License(Registered Dental Assistant) my friend Laura and I took a road trip to San Diego to take our X-Ray course.  It was supposed to be very informative and educational, however it turned out being one of the craziest days of my life.  I am happy to say that Laura and I can laugh about it now.  But while in the moment I thought I was in a very bad dream.

On the way home we ended up staying the night in Newport.  It was amazing.  We ordered pizza that night and stayed up late watching trash TV.  The next morning I looked forward to showing Laura around Newport, she had never been.  While being there I was reminded just how much I want to live there.  The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed ourselves Cafe Rio and Pink Berry.

Only five more months and we will be back there to visit.  I cannot wait!
