Cookies & Cream Cookies

Our friends Curtis and Kim and their darling triples, came by one night and brought with them the most delectable cookies.  It was so nice to try something new.  These cookies taste like an Oreo cookie and a chocolate chip cookie made a baby.  The are the perfect combination of soft and chewy.  Really, you can't go wrong with anything that has a touch of Oreo goodness.  We had to ban these cookies from our house because Tyson and I didn't know where to stop.  Luckily there is a Relief Society social tonight, so they were able to sneak back into our house for a moments time.

Cookies & Cream Cookie Recipe
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 package Cookies n'Creme pudding mix
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
10 Oreos, chopped
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together butter and sugars.

Stir in pudding mix.

Add eggs and vanilla to cream mixture.

Mix flour, baking soda and salt into mixture.

Chop ten oreos into small pieces.

Add chopped Oreo's and white chocolate chips to dough.

Stir until all ingredients are combined.

^^^ I hope Nellie loves to bake as much as I do. ^^^

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheet and bake for 7-9 minutes or until slightly brown on top.

^^^ These eyes follow me wherever I go. ^^^

Hope you enjoy these cookies as much as I did.

  6. What size box of pudding mix did you use? As in how many ounces were in it? This looks delicious by the way!

  8. My cookies didn't seem to spread out at all when I baked them. They weren't exactly balls, but were definitely more spherical than cookie shaped. Any idea why this happened?

    1. I just made them too. I didn't run into your problem but I know the consistency of your butter can make or break you when you are baking. Perhaps that was your problem. If it didn't spread out usually the butter wasn't warm enough?

    2. I am not sure. I have never had this problem. I'm sorry that happened! I used a cookie dough scoop and from there my dough usually spread only slightly into a puffy cookie.

  9. When it says 1 cup of butter, do you mean 1 stick of butter? Or 2 sticks

  13. These cookies are great, just made them!
I thought these would also be good cookie dough bites if you don't add the eggs!

  15. Question: These look SO yummy, but I'm wondering what the texture is like. Are they pretty chewy, or more on the crispy and crunchy side? Thanks!

  18. I am going to add this to my list of cookies for gifts this year. Yum. One question and it doesn't really relate to the actual recipe but the format. And it's not just yours. It's the way almost all pinterest recipes look. A picture per instruction. It makes it difficult to print. Is there something I'm missing? Like an easier way to print it? This has been an ongoing problem for me and I'm just now finding somewhere to ask about it! HELP...If someone could email me, that would be SO appreciated. (as I'll probably never find this forum again) :) Dtrmend2@aol.com. Thank you SO much to whoever takes the time to answer!

  25. Just made these. First set came out little mounds and didn't spread. Second set, I rolled into balls and squished slightly. They seemed to spread more but oddly didn't taste as good. Weird!? Anyhow, noot something I would make often as I am not a fan of all the processed stuff in oreos, but they taste pretty darn good. I am taking them to work so I won't be eating many of them anyhow.

  26. Question: I cant seem to find the oreo cookies and crème pudding mix anywhere is there anything I could substitute it with?

    1. I have only had luck finding it at Walmart. When I see it, I make sure to stock up. You could possibly try vanilla pudding, but I'm not sure you will get the same effect. I hope you can find a box :)

  31. Mine took like 15 minutes to cook is there any reason that you can think of that they took that long? They were still really good just took a lot longer then I thought they would.

  32. As a couple commentors mentioned, mine didn't flatten out. They are still delicious though!

  36. Made these a while back and never commented! They were a hit! Absolutely one of the best cookie recipes i have on hand! Normally I try and stick to recipes that I have all the items in house, but it's worth the trip to the grocery store to get the pudding mix! Making them again tonight to donate to a bake sale!

  37. Hi, if I can’t find oreo pudding mix in my country, can I just put vanilla pudding mix and add to it some cocoa powder, and crushed oreos? Like create my own oreo pudding mix. If this can’t work, what should I use instead?

    1. I'm not sure they would turn out as well without the Oreo pudding mix or what to use in place. I feel the pudding mix, makes the cookies. I'm sorry I am not of much help!
