Sunday's In Newport

One of my favorite traditions of our Newport vacation, is attending church on our first Sunday of the trip.  The chapel is located right across from the Newport Temple.  It is such a beautiful temple and the grounds are out of this world.  The flowers are gorgeous and the contrast of colors is breathtaking.

One of Penelope's favorite things to do lately is spot Angel Moroni on top of all of the temples.  She makes a trumpet sound and pumps her hands, as though she is blowing the trumpet.  She was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot and she spotted Angel Moroni.

Every night before we lay P down for bed, we have to sing "I Love To See The Temple," to her.  She won't go to sleep otherwise.  I'm so happy she has a special love for the temple, at such a young age.  I hope she will always realize the importance and sacredness of the temple.
^^^ She sure loves her daddy. ^^^
^^^ Trying to get this girl to hold still for a picture is getting near to impossible these days. ^^^
^^^ The oh so graceful leg lift.... ^^^
^^^ Poor Lucy girl gets strangled anytime we ask P to sit by her for a picture. ^^^
^^^ Love my Parker family and feel so lucky to have them all forever.  I feel so blessed to have such amazing examples in my life. ^^^
^^^^ Strike a pose. ^^^

Sprinkles

One of my favorite spots to hit while in Newport is Sprinkles cupcakes.  They are ridiculously good!  I end up eating almost all four cupcakes in one sitting.  Since this is Lucy's first year at the beach, I thought it only necessary to properly introduce her to the best cupcake on earth.  It was also a nice pre-showing for her first birthday cake smash.

I loved watching her dainty hands dip into the frosting.  She couldn't get enough of the frosting and chocolate sprinkles and I couldn't get over her chubby creases.  If you look real close you can even spot Lucy's pretty hot pink toes.  I'm seriously head over heels for this baby of mine.
I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's salted carmel cupcakes.  You better believe I am going back for seconds.  We only have a couple more days left here and will be soaking up every last second.

Afternoon Activities

Other than bubbles, I would have to say P's favorite activity these days is play dough.  She will honestly sit at her little table and play for almost an hour and will do this multiple times a day.  She insists on being the one to take each ball of play dough out of its container.  She is determined to flatten each ball and loves using cookie cutters to make shapes, even if they are Christmas shapes.  She even does a pretty good job at not mixing the colors.  When she happens to mix them, she does a good job at coordinating the colors.  I foresee a little artist.  I think she takes after her grandpa Brown.

It's on of my favorite things watching her chubby feet dangle from her chair and seeing her tiny hands mold her play dough into daddy, mommy, and LuLu shaped balls(big, medium, small).

I'm thinking its time I introduce her to salt dough.  Or homemade gak.  I remember making both.  Oh the messes I left in my mama's kitchen.

This day in particular P found her tights and had to wear them, in all of her toddler determination.  There was no convincing her other wise.  This ones determination is like no other.  But I'm pretty positive she will need that bold personality to survive this crazy world we are living in.
^^^ Also I'm pretty sure her tutu is on backwards. ^^^
^^^ Can't ge enough of those tiny hands. ^^^
^^^ I spy a baby Lucy. ^^^
^^^ She looks like such a big girl standing there. ^^^
^^^ Thank you Christmas cookie cutters, for the endless hours of entertainment. ^^^
^^^ Peek A Boo baby girl. ^^^
^^^ Oh the concentration it takes to roll out play dough. ^^^
^^^ Resisting the urge to bite into the salty goodness.  The texture is almost near to impossible to resist. I should know.  I was known to eat my fair share of play dough. ^^^
^^^ My kitchen has turned into the fun zone and I'm totally okay with it. ^^^
^^^ My favorite view, while doing dishes. ^^^
^^^ Someone likes the basketball as much as their daddy. ^^^
It's crazy to think I only one more year left with my sweet girl before she takes off to pre-school. She begs to go to school, but I think I'm going to hold off for one more year.  These years with them before they head off into the real world or so short.  I'm going to do my very best to savor each moment and help her creative mind flourish.
