Happy Birthday Dierst

I can't believe my baby sister is 22 years old today!

I still remember being over the moon happy when my mom called me from the hospital, letting me know she had a girl.  I had previously told her I would not go to the hospital if she was a boy.  All I wanted was a sister and I got one.

I can't describe how much I love my sister girl.  I talk to her at least once a day, usually more.  I can talk to her about anything.  She has always been there for me and is the greatest listener.  She is one of my greatest examples of how to smile through the hard times.  No matter what comes her way, she always knows how to look on the bright side. 

I will never forget my mom calling me and letting me know Kiersten had been in a car accident.  My heart dropped.  I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without her in it.  I feel so blessed every day that she is still here with me.  I will never forget those five days I spent with her in the hospital.  I learned a lot about life and just how strong my sister was.

Growing up she always looked up to me.  Now that we are older, I find myself looking up to her.  She is without her husband more than she is with him.  He serves in the Marines and will be deployed for the second time in August.  Kiersten has always been so strong and never complains.  I don't know how she does it.

I am so happy we only live a few hours from one another.  I cherish every trip we make down South to visit her and Jordan.  She is such a hard worker and is the best wife to Jordan.  I really think the world of her!

I know that we will be there for each other when we are old and grey.
