It's Getting Hot In Here

With the weather warming up and a baby on tow, Tyson and I decided it was time to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine.  Old Town Clovis put on a parade for the Clovis Rodeo.  We didn't end up going to the rodeo but we did enjoy the parade.  Watching the parade took me back to my middle school and high school days.  I remember marching in the parade with my new cheer uniform on.  I thought I was so cool.  I couldn't get over how young the high schoolers looked, marching through the parade.  I swear I wasn't that small or maybe I was.

For some reason the cowboys thought it would be fun to shoot of blanks in their shotguns, while riding in the parade.  It was so loud.  I was flinching every five seconds.  It didn't seem to phase Penelope.  The sirens on the other hand, about did her in.  I felt so bad for her.  She let out the biggest tears I have ever seen.  I do love being her mama though and being that one person who can comfort and protect her when she is scarred.

I wanted to steal this horse and ride him off into the sunset.

That mane.

I am still a child at heart and was hoping for heaps of candy.  Only one person handed out candy.  I was sorely disappointed.  Overall it was so much fun to get out and do something new.  Next year we are going to make the rodeo happen.

Later that afternoon we headed out to the pool.  I couldn't wait to put Penelope in her new bathing suite and sun hat.  The rolls on her legs get me every time.

We tried to dip her feet in the water to see how she would react.  As you can tell, she hated it.  I felt so bad.  Hopefully in the next couple of weeks the pool water will warm up.  Clovis has already hit 96 degrees.  I am planing on living at the pool this summer.  Although I don't like heat that much, I imagine this summer being a lot better than the last.  Pregnant and Clovis heat do not mix well together.

I love that summer is just around the corner.  I cannot wait for BBQ's, camping, fireworks, swimming, snow cones, the smell of sunscreen, tan lines and Newport!
