Kisses From The Sun

When I was younger I was embarrassed of my freckles.  I liked the way concealer did what it does best and concealed them.  I actually once looked into having them lasered.  Now, the older I get, the more comfortable I am becoming with my own skin.

Pregnancy taught me a lot, with the toll it had on my body.  In fact, the other day I decided to not care anymore.  I put on my bikini and marched myself to the pool.  I decided to not be ashamed of my new curves, but rather be grateful for what I have been given.

Beauty is so much deeper than perfectly smooth skin.  Our bodies tell a story.  They are a road map of where life has taken us.  I hope to teach Penelope to embrace her scar and to love the skin that she is in.  I am letting my freckles, laughing lines, stretch marks, and scars tell my story.  As the years continue I hope to wear my wrinkles proudly.
